In the Thai city of Roanapur, order is only maintained by a careful truce between gangs with an equal stake in the flow of drugs in and out of the Golden Triangle. This means that in order for the city to avoid an all out war and the attention of the world's press, the Russian mob (Hotel Moscow branch), the Mafia, the Colombians and the Triads all have to maintain a form of peace with each other, despite frequent attempts to kill each other in the past.
However, the head of the Mafia in Roanapur decided that he wanted a bigger cut of the pie, so he brought in two Romanian assassins known as Hansel and Gretel to first weaken and then kill off the other gangs. Unfortunately for him, the two are incredibly disturbed, and they end up killing him and his men, before heading off to kill the head of the Russian mob anyway.
And unfortunately for Hansel, the head of Hotel Moscow's Roanapur branch is a former Soviet special forces officer who doesn't take kindly to people murdering and murdering her men...

Date: 2013-10-20 09:45 pm (UTC)On a side note Rei Hiroe is one of those artists who kind of irritate me. A great draftman but with eccentric storytelling. Draw the background at least a couple of times so we have a sense of place! Stop making every panel a cropped closeup! Stop doing those crazy foreshortened poses that destroy the silhouette! And what's with those dutch angles!
He's still a great artist, but it's one of the reasons the anime tells the story of Black Lagoon better then the source material.
