I'd rather see Bruce jealous. I miss the innuendo from Justice League Unlimited and find Bruce and Diana much more interesting combo than Supes and Wondy. But then they all have buns of steel so it's win-win-win really.
we get a decent view of Clark's too... hmm though doesn't seem to be packing much junk in the trunk... i like a nice firm steel... ummm oh wow did it just get hotter in here....
And apparently Batman hates media coverage of tabloid fare as much as I do. Once you've vanquished rock and roll, Bruce, you can go after the paparazzi!
Closest would be an old "Teen Titans Spotlight" where Warp of the Brotherhood of Evil accidentally gets zapped to a parallel Earth where the world is in ruins because of the problems created by Syldavia having won the space race and a leader call "Tin" is leading the ragged remains of free humanity.
Apparently at least one bisexual person in the crowd.
And Lex: "Of course I have a plan in case this happened! It's just that I rated it slightly less likely than Superman/Nightwing, so the pieces I need haven't been assembled yet. Good thing I have a doujinshi artist on speed dial."
You know, even for Batman, that's kind of a dick move. In fact, I'm sure he'd stop someone from doing that. Blatant destruction of property and all that.
Some unknown person have been following and recording Wonder woman and Superman. Cat Grant got a unknown email showing a video of Wonder woman and Superman kissing in issue one and Cat spread the news on her blog.
The art is pretty and yet...it still seems so wrong to see Superman/WW together. They are just too much alike. And Hessia's whole "your man" line, old DCU WW would never have let that pass.
Also am the only one real-world reading subtext in there. Don't want to give the writer too much credit and yet the whole most people are so "happy" for them is the exact opposite reaction from most of fandom while the reporters whole: "You're thinking what everyone else is thinking, Jan. I mean Bow-Chika-Wow. Right? Earth-shaking. It's-" is partly why everyone thinks DC is pushing this (and them marketing the "romance" to media outlets like TMZ and Maxim didn't help) - the idea of seeing Wonder Woman and Superman having S-E-X. Ultimately that seems to be how DC marketed this. Even Lex Luthor's jailor brings it up saying "Superman and Wonderman and item. Doing IT I guess" and we all know what "IT" is. Its almost a commentary on how DC has sold this whole storyline.
*Shrug* I find it useful that way too, just to refer to a fic with non-standard pairings in it. Anyway my point wasn't about whether it should be or not, just that in this case the OP obviously meant it with a different usage.
Yeah, but you're taking a word that has a specific meaning -- and there's no doubt it's the original one, since it originated with Kirk/Spock in Star Trek -- and giving it a different meaning. It may be useful to you, but it's not useful to the genre of fan fic as a whole, and it will mean that there's confusion. That's ultimately not helpful if conversation takes place in general communities.
And yes, it was obvious the OP meant something else, but it's not obvious they meant what you mean. I assumed they were using it as a synonym for fan fiction generally, which was consistent with their dismissive attitude.
My husband has described me as "the least romantic woman on earth", and I've never written a slashfic in my life, but my first one would be way better than this.
Well, offhand, the public often makes a big deal out of the love life of say, movie stars, and I expect that Justice Leaguers who aren't actively fleeing the spotlight generate at least that level of celebrity.
That's before getting into the issue that, given their very real ability to affect global change, *everything* they do is likely analyzed to the nth degree by government experts, corporate think tanks, and wild-haired professors on the History Channel.
It would SO totally be like this in 'real life'. A high-powered couple like Superman and Wonder Woman would be plastered all over the tabloids and Internet.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
