I’m not sure why the Cuckoos forgot that they actually knew original flavor Jean. I’m also not sure why they’re pretending they’re triplets, but let’s not get into that again.

Ha, more animation. Sorta. A little bit.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about doing this big thing that would be the Avengers movie but with the female Avengers instead of the dude ones. Each of the characters would fill the role of a character from the movie, but would maintain her own personality and motivations. For example, the Scarlet Witch would take Thor’s place as the team’s mystical powerhouse, but she wouldn’t be running around screaming “For Asgard” or murdering coffee cups. (Just joking, Thor fans!) It’d be the Wasp for Iron Man, the Scarlet Witch for Thor, Captain Marvel for Captain America, She-Hulk for the Hulk, Mockingbird for Hawkeye, and Hawkeye for the Black Widow. A lot of stuff would be changed around and the team dynamic would be different, but I think it could work as a cool idea. I don’t know. We’ll see. (Also maybe Enchantress instead of Fem!Loki. Legit fem!Loki, not Loki wearing Sif’s body.)

This comic isn’t really an indication of the project, it’s just for fun.





It used to be not cool to use the word hell at Marvel, which led to interesting swearing and this terrible, terrible comic by me.





I’m glad Wally’s coming back but his new design is a little…unnerving.

Ugh, don’t like this one either. I’m off my mojo this week.

The Cuckoo thing can easily be people talk about the fully developed version of the character as if that was always the way they were written

I can't help but picture how convoluted a picture book of where do babies come from would be using them as a template.

I mean where would it even start with the time a kid younger than them blew up a demon who may or may not be the devil.

Or would it start when Mommy as a baby got her powers tampered with by an evil elder god.

First off, if you are going to redo Avengers with a female cast (fun idea BTW!) I vote for a female Loki, but that's 'cause I'm a Loki fangirl. I love that Hawkeye gets to kick around, but could we put in Kate for Mockingbird?

Secondly, don't worry about your art, no one can make current Raven look good in that costume! ;)

I kind of feel that the basic Flash costume can actually work pretty well with a blue color scheme, but this particular outfit reminds me a little too much of Superman Blue (Warning: Tvtropes link follows - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DorkAge/TheDCU). If they just took Barry's outfit, changed a couple minor details (such as lightning bolt design or placement), and then swapped out the red for blue, it might work.

Also, I'm not opposed to Raven's redesign incorporating a feather pattern/motif, even if the end result is a rather jarring departure from what I'm accustomed to.

Of course I can't help but think of Gaiman's Death in relation to Thanos, she defintiely would be keeping him in the friendzone.

The best part about that first strip is that it's actually canon. Death really doesn't need Thanos to kill more people and she's told him such. It would be like giving the owner of a pen manufacturer who owns thousands of pens already nothing but more pens as gifts and expecting him/her to jump into your arms.

Thanos is in love with Death as he pictures her, not as she actually is.

To be fair, Annihilation (good as it was otherwise) and the Thanos Imperative undid pretty much all of Thanos' character development from his own series.

Actually, Death resurrected Thanos specifically so that he could kill more people. She resented the fact that more people were alive than had ever died, and ordered him to kill half the population of the universe.

She didn't like it when he accomplished this goal by becoming omnipotent ruler of everything, including her, though.

When Death became a less villainous character she kind of got tired of the corpses Thanos offered to her. One of the reasons their relationship is so difficult is because Death expects more from Thanos than simple mass murder these days, but he does not know what else he can do to win her over. Death wants Thanos to become someone equal to her, and merely killing people will not do that.

Hmm. For the Femvengers, wouldn't a better villain be Polaris so that she and Wanda have a relationship similar to that of Thor and Loki? Just a thought. And I kind of see Mockingbird as being more of the Black Widow while Hawkeye as Hawkeye. Great idea though! I had to think it over, but Wasp definitely seems like one of the best analogues for Iron Man.

Last random thought: shouldn't the Black Widow analogue actually be a guy then to kind of stick with the genderswap concept? Maybe... hmmm... Yeah I can't really think of another guy that matches up to Black Widow (other maybe than Hawkeye).

Frankly, Ultron would be a better foe for Scarlet Witch. In the comics, she's the one who usually ends up kicking his ass. Ultron has a connection to Janet too, since he's got a weird Oedipus Complex for her. And while Polaris is powerful, frankly, she's not really a threat that's worthy of an entire team consisting of these particular super heroines. As for the token guy, why not use Hank Pym? He also has a connection to Ultron too, since he's the robot's maker and Ultron's AI is based on Hank's own brain patterns. He's also got a connection to Janet that could convince him to join the team, kind of like how the main reason Black Widow joined the Avengers was to help Clint.

If Thanos really wanted to impress Death, maybe he should tap into his other talent besides killing people: gardening. (No really, Thanos enjoys gardening when he's between apocalyptic schemes)

From what I remember regarding the Uncanny/All-New X-Men issues, the Cuckoos are basically just saying 'the mighty Jean Grey' like they're utterly disappointed the teenage version doesn't quite measure up, or they're sick of hearing about Saint Jean, or they're mocking how easy she is to knock down (and I swear to God Bendis is basically just parodying the 90's cartoon and how feeble Jean could be there with Teen!Jean at times). It's basically the equivalent, kind-of, of Miss America meeting Billy Kaplan and being disappointed because he doesn't quite measure up to the Demiurge or whatever.

"To the blazes with you" made me smile a bit. Some of the... interesting dialogue choices to get around the obvious swearing tended to weird me out when I first started reading comics.
