So in a meeting between a family of werewolves and some other supernatural creatures, a grown person bonds on sight with a young child? Is Willingham cribbing from Twilight?
At least Lake has a more appropriate response to that.
It's been teased at (in scenes depicting the grown-up Ambrose) that Lake is destined to marry Ambrose. And Lake knows more about destiny than anyone else. She isn't bonding on sight with him, but is shocked that her mission for the Blue Fairy has led her to this first meeting with her future husband. She's always been the one handing out fates-- this time, she comes face-to-face with her own destiny, and it freaks her out.
I think it's just squicky for her. Knowing in broad strokes what the future holds with him... but having to first meet him as barely more than an infant.
It's a touch strange that this Morgan's hair looks a little like the helmet of the DCU version of the character isn't it?
I do find this interesting though, and the original Arthurian figures attempting to literally fight fate by derailing any potential disasters is an interesting take on some much use subject matter.
Hm, now I'm wondering what a team-up comic of various legendary magicians would be like. With Circe, Morgan/Morgaine, Merlin, and Sun Wukong vs. Faust and the Wicked Witch from umpteen fairy tales.
Yeah, but unfortunately, it's been shown time and time again in myth and story that trying to fight fate by derailing potential disasters just ends up causing them down the line.
What happened when Arthur tried derailing the "Child Mordred will try to Overthrow Me in the Future" prediction? He pulled a "Firstborn of Egypt" scenario and, naturally, a whole generation of male babies died, EXCEPT the one that was supposed to die.
And worst of it is, Lake SHOULD know this, having seen it happened the last time around. Just because you know what's going to happen, it doesn't mean it's going to happen the way you think.
