So, the ancient puzzle is finally solved. Did Heracles ended up on Olympus, or did he ended up in Hades? Turns out it's neither: he's been stuck under Atlantis instead :P
Well, in any case Hercules is one of my favourite mythical heroes, and I'm very much interested to see how DC is gonna treat him this time 'round.
Hmm. Good question. My initial thought was that it had to do with the Italian films in the fifties, but a bit of research suggests that it may have become the standard when medieval mythographers, writing in Latin, reinterpreted myths as Christian-friendly allegories.
Assuming he gets over his half-mad state that he's currently in, they have a great opportunity here with Hercules. Make him the overly boisterous character that Aquaman was in Brave and the Bold, and have him team up with Aquaman frequently.
Of course, that might put him too close to Marvel's Hercules... hrm.

Also *also*, why does everyone call him by his Roman name, even when referencing the Greek myths?
