When all the other Dreams have vanished, "our" version uses his ruby to speak with someone named Glory of the First Circle.

I don't think I'd even been aware that this issue had come out!

I do wish JH Williams saved his crazy-panel layouts for the big moments in the issue. It was hard to read. Can't even focus on the art because you're trying to figure out which panel is next.

Liked cat-dream though.

Well, apart from the other Vortices we've met being female, since this is set in 1915, not sure how the references to a world dying and a child living "long ago" can refer to Superman.

Well, not really. Time means everything to them. Yes they are the Endless, but they live life sequentially, and it passes no faster for them than it does for us (Morpheus makes especial note of that when he confronts the people who trapped him)

at this point the vortex is definitely Unity... and her situation will be left "pending" given what will happen to dream in just a few numbers...

Come now, this is a Sandman story. Whoever this child is is obviously going to be progeny of one of the Endless (probably Dream himself).

Daniel has his own seperate story in this issue (as the cover indicates), though he does not appear at the gathering of Dreams (one assumes it is only a gathering of Morpheus..ess.

I think Gaiman and Williams managed to pack more creepiness into those first three pages above than Mike Carey and the various artists did into the entire run of Lucifer.

Oh, this is a Rose Walker thingy, isn't it? Goodness, I can feel bits of my long term memory dredging up The Dolls House.

And now I'm sad all over again that I lost the trade paperback in a burglary.
