So the Shroud, Max Coleridge, has apparently gone a bit off the deep end, and has been cutting a swathe through the city's mobsters, and then at the end of last issue showed up to attack Daredevil. In this issue, we find out that this is part of a plan on the Shrouds part to get an audience with the Owl. Daredevil disagrees with this plan, and proposes an alternative, which involves him drawing everyone's attention by showing up at the Owl's headquarters as Matt Murdock (who everyone knows is Daredevil), thereby allowing the Shroud to use his freaky shadow powers to get the drop on the Owl.

Unfortunately for Matt, it seems that the Owl A) has some information he thinks will give him leverage over the Shroud, and B) as a Silver Age villain, has installed his headquarters with giant trapdoor death traps.

Is it bad that I now want to see a Curious George story that is a dark, gritty, existential examination of the human condition?

George looked at heavy lump of metal in his hand, and sniffed the smoke coming from the end. The smell reminded him of the days before the man in the Yellow Hat took him from the birthing place. He recalled the smallness he felt as the boomstick made his mother and father still. He shuddered.

"Is this all there is?" he thought, contemplating the oozing red coming from the Man in the Yellow Hat's chest. "Are we just doomed to repeat ourselves in a never ending cycle of who did what to whom?"

George ate a banana. The flies grew more thick.
