Kingpin lost control of the Hand when Spock went after his operation in Superior Spider-Man. Fisk had a fake prepared and used him as a dupe to make Spock and everyone (save Phil Urich who witnessed it) believe he was dead. The remnants went to Green Goblin but left him after Goblin Nation. So it's safe to say they fled to Sabretooth or Gorgon. I got nothing on how either are leader but that's what happened to Fisk.

I don't know, maybe Japan is progressive when it comes to assigning gender identity to Greek mythological creatures? Wikipedia says that the media named him after he manifested his mutant power to turn people to stone as a teenager, so maybe they just couldn't be bothered to look up cockatrices.

All four Marvel/DC Gorgons are dudes, looks like. Snake-haired comic book ladies get individualized names, like Medusa and Delphyne. (Although Delphyne does use "Gorgon" as a surname, I believe.)

It's ancient and hallowed tradition, or something.

And he's got some sort of tech nunchaku



I assume that the ki blasts he uses against Gorgon in this issue are just another variation
