"And I’ve just always wanted Buffy to say some things. I’ve been talking with Scott [Allie, Editor-in-Chief of Dark Horse Comics] about it for a couple years and it just kind of came to fruition and it’s been a rousing success." - Nicholas Brendon

They have Dracula explain exactly how he got his special powers, in the hopes it'll give them a clue as to how it's now happened with all the other vampires.

Dracula decides to steal the book so that he can re-write the rules of magic to his own liking:

Well, that's rather depressing for Xander, though the Xander/Dawn thing has never felt at all right.

Buffy's Dracula I think works better in small doses, long scenes with him tend to get a little tedious, yes, you're arrogant entitlement personfiied, we get it, now do something interesting for the narrative would you?

Sensing the lightning coming is interesting in terms of how you'd have to plan your narrative.

"Okay, 10 seconds left, pad it out a little longer then say "the darkness eternal!"- No, he's interrupting - Plan B: Wait 6 more seconds then shout SILENCE!, shouting in 3, 2, 1..."

"I love you."
"No, you don't."
(Also from the final episode of Buffy)

I wonder if Whedon and Co. have certain issues.

Something about Xander and Dawn will always seem a little icky to me. I know the characters are only supposed to have around a 5 year age difference, which isn't too bad, but I can't stop picturing them as Nicholas Brendon and Michelle Trachtenberg from like season 6.

Michelle Trachtenberg was supposed to show in the final season of ANGEL in an "She's All Grown Up" scene. They replaced her with Tom Lenk.

"He played us! Quite brilliantly! In the sense that he, the Lord of All Darkness, stood there while we explained that we held the book that was changing all of the rules of magic and slayerism and vampirism forever and held it about six inches in front of his nose and then he stole it! No one could have seen this coming. Dracula truly is beyond the mind of mortal man."
