--I'm still going to tag this with char: Megatron, though Jetfire would have made more sense in context. Also this issue has a cover date of June '87, the last issue of G.I. Joe and the Transformers was dated April '87... I think this was Larry's subtle way of saying the Transformers only existed as toys in the G.I. Joe world even though that would later prove false .

Slipstream also takes a nose-dive in the X-30, but manages to recover.









--You know I'm noticing the story structure of a lot of Special Missions issues resemble EC horror comics in a way. Lot of bad karma (in the westernized use of the word) repaid.

This was one of my favorite comics in our rather eclectic collection as a kid--and it really drove home how interesting the 'little guy' could be to a story. To this day I still like reading stories about the janitor, the clerk, the nobody who turns out to be more important than the hero, and this is one of the comics I can blame for that :)
