Now that we are officially done with all of that setup with looking at The Trial of Jean Grey, we look at the comic that picked up that romantic subplot that popped up at the end. Here's the first issue of the series...

This is fun enough, but how come they are drawing Kitty as if she were still a young teenager? Has she been de-aged or something? It's kind of throwing me off...

Shadowcat will always be a teenager, because that's the age her archetype fits best, just as Franklin Delano Sorhame Richards will always be a young boy to contrast his gargantuan power and intelligence with innocence and unformed potential. She'll always, probably to the end of time, be that principled and energetic and, above all, approachable teenager she was a couple decades ago, just like the White Queen will never age out of HER bracket.

Honestly, I don't think she's meant to be a 'young teenager', so much as a 'young 20-something adult with a petite frame'. The nightware does make her look younger, but I would say she looks more along the lines of early 20s than teenager.

This did surprise me in how much fun the two made as a couple. I've never really cared for any of Kitty's previous Peter's, but I liked how this one and her bounced off of one-another. They really make an endearing couple.

While not a fan of Paco Medina art, his last page bottom panel could have at least try to convey some sort of expression. As to Kitty and Starlord as a thing I await the inevitable break up. Less X-men and more cosmic characters.
