NEWS - GUARDIANS OF INFINITY Unites Teammates From Three Eras

Marvel is launching a second Guardians of the Galaxy team book in the fall, titled Guardians of Infinity. Announced at ComicBook, "multiple generations" of the Guardians line-up team up in the book, ranging from the original 1960s line-up last seen in Guardians 3000 to the modern line-up popularized in the recent movie, and a new team described as "The Guardians 1000." Former Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians 3000 writer Dan Abnett joins with artist Carlo Barberi for the new series.

The report also indicates that each issue will have a back-up story, with Guardians of Infinity #1 featuring a Rocket Raccoon and Thing team-up by Jason Latour and Jim Cheung.

Defending the galaxy is a good gig, but Drax isn’t thrilled with the combat hours (not enough of them) and Rocket isn’t thrilled with the compensation (not enough of it). Also in this issue, Latour and Cheung tell a one-off story of Ben Grimm and Rocket Raccoon, stuck on a planet where culture is based on Earth-style professional wrestling…but the stakes are life and death! THIS AIN’T KAYFABE, BROTHER!

I'm not going to suggest that Rocket and Groot are overexposed... but dammit, there is too much of a good thing, and this is it.

I feel like I've just betrayed myself, saying there's too much Groot, but...

When they said different eras, I was really hoping we'd see more of the members from the earlier iterations of the modern team. Like Jack Flag, Phylla-Vell, Moondragon, and so on. I wonder who these Guardians 1000 are going to turn out to be.
