Hmm, I'd always presumed that a vamipres bite opened up the resulting dead body to a new demonic host, I'd never considered it was all the SAME demon.

I figured the demon was basically cut off the original and dropped into the new body.

Makes sense, though - demons are generally not considered to be big on sharing, so if it /were/ another demon there'd have to be something big in it for the 'sire'...

Also, that explains why the smarter vampires don't just turn everyone they grab; there's a personal cost involved -- by inhabiting an extra host the demon can become more powerful eventually but at least for a time it's more vulnerable to defeat in detail.

it's also similar to other stories. Queen of the Damned. Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices. a single demon is the parent of the Vampires and the Were Wolves each. And they were demons that had a beef with each other, hence why vamps and wolves don't get along.

But what happened with Anya? I remember seeing her haunt Xander in a prevous Buffy post.

She's still around. But only Xander can see her, so she doesn't always show up in group scenes.

i didn't like how buffy and spike started. well. i did because i understood that kind of relationship. I didn't like the middle rapey part, even though it kinda went a long with the idea that this guy has no soul... but i like what the show did since (reensouling him, by his own choice) and the road he's been on since then. THIS relationship is a lot more healthy, (and less angsty than Angel) and since it's not a curse, no fear of happy times.
