By request of
lbd_nytetrayn, herein is a particularly fun moment from the second volume of Amazing Spider-Man by Straczynski.
A little bit of context: Peter and MJ are currently separated/on-a-break, whatever you want to call it; she's in LA, he was in Africa (stuff related to the whole Spider-Totem arc) but was flying across the country to see her. Turns out she'd done the same thing. "Typical Parker luck." They wind up meeting in a random stop-over in the Midwest. But Peter's Spider-Sense starts going crazy when someone else happens to have an unexpected stopover...

Unfortunately, it's not DOOM that Peter's picking up on, but the (surprisingly well-armed) Latverian terrorists/freedom fighters that are about to attack their supreme ruler in 3...2...1...

DOOM gets knocked out, and in helping clear the civilians, Peter makes a discovery about one of the security guards.

Together, Cap and Spidey oppose the reinforcements, who come in wearing heavy duty power armor. (Doesn't look like any of Tony's. Old Hammer Industries inventory, maybe?)

I'm actually cutting an earlier instance where somebody else had the drop on DOOM, and Peter stopped that guy too. So, depending on your POV, he's saved DOOM's life twice.

Despite Peter's brush-off, DOOM does not renege on his word, which is a matter of honor to him. So, again, technically, Peter still has a favor from DOOM owed to him.
The "one thing" Peter is referring to relates to a moment he and MJ shared in-between the initial bombing and more goons showing up, where they're sitting together and after a moment of awkward silence discussing where their relationship is at, MJ says "And another thing, you never introduce me to your friends."

And that's the time that Spider-Man saved DOOM's life (or a Doombot's, whatever) and earned a favor in return.
8 pages from Amazing Spider-Man #491, vol. 2 (#50) which was a 24 page issue.
