After the cut, some comic covers, fan art, and how I think The Jetsons should be "updated."

Issued 7 was written by Chuck Dixon. The promo says: Judy Jetson becomes an unwitting agent of industrial espionage for Mr. Spacely when the groovy guy she's dating turns out to be Cody Cogswell--son of the Mr. Cogswell of Cogswell Cogs--in "The Spy Who Grounded Me."

This is a commission I had done by Scott Neeley. Basically a "before the series" idea I had, that George got a special "assemble at home" discount when he purchased Rosie. It doesn't really "jive" with the history of the series, though.
So, how should the The Jetsons be "updated" (pun intended) if they ever do a live-action movie or another
animated series?
Judy seems to be the weak link. Being boy-crazy over rock stars is a bit dated. Maybe she wants to write songs for her favorite rock star, Jet Screamer, and is actually pretty good at it.
Jane could start her own career, maybe after having to save George from the automatic dog-walker one too many times. After all, it is implied George and Jane got pregnant with Judy when they were 17.
George: "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!"
Jane: "'Jane! Stop this crazy thing!' 'Jane! Stop this crazy thing!' I have dreams too, you know!"
Rosie. Voiced by Arleen Sorkin, thrilling fans whenever she says "Mistah J."
Astro. His talking, complete with dominant R's, is explained with SCIENCE!
Orbitty. Shut up, he could work. Give him a rivalry with Astro or something.

Date: 2016-06-14 11:45 am (UTC)Judy could be shown to actually be academically smart as well as interested in boys (or girls, or both, or gender nonspecific technorganic life forms, it's a new century and all) and music and just basically have more of a life.
