I realize that comics have been used to hock toys, food, and tandy computers for decades (and more than one comic series was born specifically to SELL toys), but for some reason, this irks me waaaay more than it should.

It's probably due to the fact that I work in a toy store and I have to sell these damn things.

I feel the same way when it's too blatant. Pokémon in Pokéballs was obviously intended to sell capsule toys, but it still made enough sense in-story that I didn't mind. But the magic battle cards of Yu-Gi-Oh and the magic battle tops of Beyblade annoyed me to no end.
