Yeah. I know he's a Marvel character, so happiness was never really an option. And he's Deadpool, so that always went double for him. But still... What the freaking hell, Marvel?!

It's always his own fault. Because it's written to be that way. Because it increases the pathos. And Marvel loves nothing as much as pathos.

They just never seem to be able to figure it out that always wallowing in the pit of despair won't get their audience to feel for their characters. It just numbs.

No, it's his own fault because the character is inherently self-destructive.

And things aren't always going to be rainbows and gum drops. He also had a streak of good luck going, which means it would run out.

Plus you know, we are still talking about a guy that kills for a living.

I kinda doubt it, given the way that scene ends. (Wade makes a major impression on Jack, but it seems unlikely Jack will think kindly of him afterward.)
