It's a flashback. The current Deathstroke book is broken down to two storylines, one in modern day and the other detailing Slade's life through flashbacks from roughly 8-10 years ago. This issue doesn't just show him meeting Rose but Joey being kidnapped

Ah, sorry. I understand that confusion, a lot of comic artists no matter how talented seem to struggle with making children look young...I'm still not sure how old Joey is suppose to be.

While I am still really liking Priest's approach to Deathstroke, that IQ joke bugged me so much as that is not how the IQ score works. A person with an IQ of 125 is in the top five percentile of the population, so if you have an IQ of 150, you are not in the top quadrant of the population.

It is a small thing, I realize, but there is always something irritating when writers try to make someone seem smart in a way that just makes them look really dumb.
