Carol is just not coming out of this looking good, is she?
Am I the only one suspecting an upcoming self fulfilling prophecy of Carol fighting Aurora because of the actions Carol has taken since being told she would fight Aurora?
Is Ulysses suddenly cosplaying as Gambit, with the red eyes and all?
Has Aurora had plastic surgery on her ears? They've been pointed before, but this is Vulcan by way of Elfquest level pointy.
Oh, but I love the hyper-qualified space-kitty in a mech suit
but yeah... self fulfilling prophesies seem to be par for the course... he only sees probabilities. not definitive futures. I assume this means he takes in people's likely reaction. he see's aurora fighting Marvel, and then tells marvel, she begins to suspect things, and they fight. it only becomes a likely scenario because, once Ulysses tells her, she will act the way she has been acting, and .... well act... there by causing the chain of events that lead to the fight....
I will say... the only two instances that she showed good choices... in some ways... were the fight with Thanos (that they ALL should have planned better for) and Banner, until Hawkeye got all hypocritical as always. even then, because carol acted the way she did, the hand was able to resurrect the Hulk and put him under there control, leading, most likely... to the killing Ulysses predicted...
I would love if, for once, the predictions began with someone saying "look, if i make this prediction, it will become true NOT because the future is written, but because the prediction predicts what is going to happen based on you hearing the prediction"
LIke. Okay... you might want to get your big guns over to this place.... also, no one too squishy... take tanks and ranged people only. Think of it as a boss battle. if you want to take squishies with you, take them FAR to the back. I don't care what rank they have. they are support, not attack.
Also no. You might want to talk to Banner and that Choi guy. see how they are doing. Make sure they are, you know happy.... Probably don't want to make them feel threatened.
Wow Carol, you do realize that as the only person there who has actually been through WW2, his opinion might carry a bit more weight than some guy online.
Oh, and then there's that little troubling matter of Japanese internment camps during WWII that a lot of people seem to forget about. You didn't have to go to Nazi Germany to have people jail you for the presumption that you'd commit a crime based on some factor other than your actual actions. Actual American citizens had their properties seized, their assets frozen and were taken to flimsy camps in the dessert on the presumption that they would probably be enemy spies. Just like all the US citizens who were Germans had been through both wars...oh, wait. Sorry, forget that last one.
Also: 'Seriously, tell us your secret for cracking our security so we can stop you from doing it!" What did you think he was going to say, Carol?
Ah, for a narrative that would answer Magneto's " You dare take pre-emptive measures against me? " with " New York, the United Nations, that submarine, that military base.. "
So, I can't remember the last time heroes got along well with each other. Sure it does feel more real they aren't buddy buddies with everyone, but they can't just remain so hostile towards one another for the sake of more hero vs hero events...right?
Ulysses keeps having visions of heroes fighting other heroes, then telling one of the heroes, which causes him or her to treat the other hero with suspicion, thereby instigating the fight.
Here's my question: how come the told hero never thinks they might be the one that needs to be stopped? Between mind control, Skrull impersonation, clones, possession, Inversion, etc., hasn't pretty much every hero at least appeared to have gone bad at some point?
Even in the real world, if a (credible) psychic told me I was going to get into a fight with a friend, I wouldn't automatically assume my friend was the jerk. I'd at least consider the possibility that I was out of line.
So has Aurora gotten some off-screen therapy or something? Because for someone who's main gimmick for the longest time was "multiple personalities," she's coming off as very put-together in these + other recent scans.

Date: 2016-09-28 06:51 pm (UTC)I mean basically since Avengers Disassembled it's been non-stop heroes fighting heroes. Every couple of Events.
Avengers Disassembled.
House of M.
Civil War
Planet Hulk
Then things dovetailed into Dark Reign, where we hit Heroic Age and things stabilized for awhile....
Then we hit Secret Wars and it all went to hell again:
Secret Wars
Civil War II
And then there's the upcoming crossover where Steve Rogers is going to have to fight Tony Stark's evil ex-girlfriends to take over the world...
