Why is it in zombie fiction, people always use wooden bats?
Also, only about 50 issues after Rick realizes that the zombies can't think, we see cast members using actual tactics to exploit that. Took long enough
They're available, and frankly they're pretty good. Not much blood splatter, easy to, say, break a kneecap and prevent one from running or a jaw and prevent them from biting. Users have high familiarity.
All that's true but I've always wondered why we don't see more metal bats especially the cheap ones that you can find in any kind of store with a sporting goods section all over the us.
Whereas I was happy they didn't set up some sort of Negan triumph there. Also, if Dwight can pull off the mask strategy, the Whisperers are going to become a non-issue really quickly.
To be fair, I think the past few issues, with Negan in their midst, did prove the average Whisperer (and Beta most of all) to be a bit of a wanker (—sorry, I was reading Garth Ennis and my English is temporarily grosser).

I always found it strange how entire factions of people in The Walking Dead universe would suddenly begin speaking in an antiquated style of speech.
Whats-his-name's kingdom and his people ("Halt! Ho there! Who dares trespass in our land!") to this group...
It reminds me of Chris Claremont at his wordiest more and more.
