Um does Louis normally not wear anything underneath trench coats? The cleavage kinda takes me out of that last panel because it hints of further nudity that isn't covered by anything else underneath that coat. Otherwise, I like the art a lot, is it by Kano?

Mon-el's face on the last panel makes it even worse. He has this, "How odd, she doesn't seem to be wearing anything under that coat" look on his face.

Or "How odd, she doesn't appear to be wearing anything under her clothes."

X-Ray vision ftw.

That made my morning. I don't know what's better: the speech or the furtive exit.

It always surprises me how many people these days don't know the Muppets properly.

I suppose it's my age, but "The Muppet Show" was one of the formative influences throughout my growing up, and I can still quote numerous sketches (More than I can say, something like Monty Python), and know the words to a worryingly large number of the songs they used.

I thoroughly recommend Scooter's rather touching "Six String Orchestra" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ2NzUc5Vek) for encouragement when things seem tough and Gonzo's brilliant "Jamboree" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNcM25UsOpI) if I feel the need for a quick burst of nutty positivity at short notice.

It's been so long since I've seen these sketches--but some of them are still half-floating around in my brain. I need to check them out on YouTube again. Watching them always takes me back to conversations in the cloak room in grade school--for some reason I remember a lot of "Did you see the Muppet Show last night?" conversations taking place there!

You need to prepare for Superman?

She's a pretty great wife. He can ogle her from wherever he is ALL DAY, but she still makes the effort.

That's sweet.

Lois also has a few sets of lead-lined lingerie (with padding of course) for "special" occassions.

That last bit bothers me. So, Sam Lane is thorough enough to get a body with metal in all the right places, but doesn't bother with the right number of teeth?

Y'know, given the sheer number of faked deaths in your average comic book universe, I wonder if there isn't some Metropolis netgeek running a website like PhotoshopDisasters, only for faux corpses (EPIC TOOTHFAIL, LOL). Of course, that only works if you imagine a fairly large underground of people dedicated to providing fake corpses to select individuals, but it seems clear that there's a high demand for such things. Probably a growth industry.

To be fair, one is more likely to remember an operation that set bone then exactly how many teeth they had up to a certain point.

Yeah...removing wisdom teeth is a fairly routine operation - easy to not think to ask if the corpse still has his.

Especially if he had his wisdom teeth out when he was 6. You remember anything from when you were six? And Sam Lane is in his 60s? That's a long time for memory to stretch.

Plus . . . . dental records and medical records aren't always the same thing. Lane may have checked his own medical records for certainty, but missed or failed to remember his dental records.

Actually, Sam had his wisdom teeth out with Lois was six. She likely remembers it well, since it would be one of the few times Sam would ever be "lying down on the job," so to speak.

Interesting, I wonder if this might again suggest that NOT all Kryptonians develop the same powers under a yellow sun (We've never had a large enough sample to compare before), what with Chris having tactile telekinesis and now Flamebird apparently being pyrokinetic.

The old Phantom Zone series pre-Crisis introduced a magnificently terrifying pair of villains from the PZ, Az-Rel and Nadria who were a sort of nihilistic, sociopathic, Bonnie and Clyde pair. He was pyrokinetic and she was telekinetic even before they went into the Zone.

Their casual, almost disinterested trail of destruction on anyone they meet ("Convulse" "Burn") made them different from most and their loveless relationship was somehow DEEPLY creepy.

I suspect Nightwing and Flamebird's altered powers have more to do with their connections to their legendary namesakes.

For Thara, it seems pretty definite - the Religious Caste clearly saw SOMETHING interesting in her. For Chris, the nature of the Phantom Zone and Fort Roz has definitely altered his physiology, so...

I don't think much of anything is required to explain TTK at this point. Attempts at producing artificial kryptonians always result in telekinesis, and the standing explanation that this is because kryptonian invulnerability is actually an unconscious, brainstem-level telekinetic field has yet to be contradicted that I'm aware of. Thus a kryptonian with TK of any kind isn't any different than a badass normal Batman/Shiva type slowing down or stopping her own heartbeat.

So why did Flamebird and Nightwing ditch their AMAZINGLY DESIGNED costumes for these ugly battlesuits? I really really don't like them.

Also did Thara turn into that flaming thing?

Pretty rad.

That's Superman's Pal, Mon-El. You know, the guy that gets stuck in the Phantom Zone for a thousand years, eventually joining the Legion of Superheroes.
