I really like this story, but the last page, makes me wonder if an earlier version of the story had Ben dying instead.

I think they did dither til the last minute.

It has always amused me that in the Spidergirl universe, Peter's son is named Benjamin Richard Parker. Its almost inevitable that its assumed he is named for the Fantastic Four friends.
