Hercules asks a very important question.

also, appropriate sound effect is appropriate.

Awesome. *laughs*

The font looks sort of familiar though, kind of looks like the lettering used when Athena is possessing someone in Wonder Woman over in DC.

Isn't that Thor's font? Or something darned close to it...

How do they get those past the censors?

Who has censors anymore? Marvel keeps their own in-house ratings, though I'm not familiar enough with Incredible Herc to know it's rating.

I think that, technically, it's not considered the same as "bitchslap" since it omits the T.

Or maybe it's just so awesome that it bichslapped anyone who got in the way.

That's probably my favorite thing about Herc. I remember once it was like "TIC! TAC! TOE!"

SISY-POOF was my favorite of this issue.

That one was good. My all time favourite was "SSHHHRRGGG" when Atlas was unveiled back in #124.

I far preferred "NOGGN" when two heads were banged together in that arc, and the bit in the same issue where Atlas' fist interrupts Herc's marriage proposal to Namora with 'BRAKITUP'.

Incredible Herc is FULL of unique sound effects. They're like Greg Pak's trademark.

Later in the issue when Iron Monger decks Pluto, there's a satisfying "STAAAAAAAAANG"

I'm hoping Herc will bring up (in his upcoming arc) the fact that he and Thor have in some ways swapped their classical personalities - Herc becoming the loveable jerkass who smashes things, enjoys life and is very funny, and Thor the noble warrior who often gets insanely angry when honour is at stake.

I always assumed he just learned English for the first time in the Shakesperean era and liked it, so kept the accent for fun. The fact he's two thousand years older than Shakespeare is fairly irrelevant if he didn't speak the language until the 16th century.

Sort of like the immortal bad guy Culp in Starman, who spoke English with a Cockney accent, which meant he was looked down on in society, so when he learned French, ensured he learned how to speak it like a refined gentleman.

The very first page of this comic is a background matchup, like you see on boxing matches on the Herc vs Herc battle here, and they used the "thumbs-up" Herc that we know so well here as his portrait. I fell out of my chair laughing.

The sound effects were especially good this issue. I liked "ARDHISTOREE" quite a bit.
