So writers like Lobdell get a lot of shit these days, but.. Somehow, I'd rather have the 90's period of comics - especially for the X-Men - rather than the vast majority of recent runs. I was thinking about Onslaught lately, for instance, and.. Yeah, the execution was a little off, but I just remember liking the idea and concept. It's incredibly comic-booky, to say the least, but for all their faults I'd rather have that and Age of Apocalypse (and this as an offshoot) and whatever over the constant deluge of hero vs hero/'real-world ethics' blahdeeblahness that we seem to get these days, that fall flat on their face because companies don't want to commit to that sort of status quo or most comics writers simply aren't skilled enough to deal with the notions they're invoking.
