I can actually see Johnny as being very popular among the gay community, and him loving the attention and appreciation. Sure, maybe he's not gay (or so he tells himself) but he'd be comfortable among them, especially the drag community. (Because as a member of the FF, he sees stranger beings every day--what's a few feather boas and a lot of sequins compared to the Shi'ar, right?)

The whole Daken thing (even allowing for Daken's creepy pheremones possibly meaning consent an issue) would indicate Johnny is inclined towards bisexuality.

I think his interactions with Daken & Peter Paker were ....

...pretty obviously Marvel telling the world Johnny swung both ways. Johnny has had relationships with aliens, one of whom is a shapeshifter so probably could be considered a hetero leaning omnisexual aka A Captain Kirk.

Yeah, I've been there, and whatdoyaknow, I'm not gay. I used to play dress up with my daughters, and my wife has a pic or two of me wearing a wig and a feather scarf thing, doesn't mean she can use those pictures as evidence of me being a drag queen (please forgive me if that term offends anyone) or something. He's always been written as straight, so I don't understand why this is even a thing.

Its like spending time in San Francisco. Of course there are plenty of hetero fuddy duddy types living there. But culturally, it has come to imply acceptance of multi-sexuality. Fire Island was notorious. What is odd about this is the very strange hesitation in "He was so confused, poor... ...man!" There seems to be no reason for it. Unless Johnny isn't cis male.

But the writers have already confirmed that Johnny is canonically bisexual. What is interesting is that this scan implies that Alicia is also part of the multiple sexuality scene.
