Thank you for posting this. It made quite a stir on tumblr some time ago, and I was curious to see the opinions of people here.

I personally agree that this story is much better than the Superman one. Though I wouldn't go so far as to say that I disliked the Superman story, which I still found overall hopeful and heartwarming. I think both are good. But, imo, the Deadpool one is the superior story.
