The Star People bit is one of the weirder and more disturbing parts of Pratchett's works. More disturbing, really, than the whole mess later on with the Things from the Dungeon Dimensions. ... which probably just has something to do with the fact they're giant, hideous things man was not meant to know what of, and these people are... well, people. Who have gone entirely nuts out of fear. But that is probably the point, isn't it?
