You know what I find really amusing? How the public scorn and mockery for Sally as a fictional character back in the day so closely mirrors the reaction to public figures saying dumbass shit in real life. You know, like that Pepsi commercial fiasco.

Scans_Daily is place founded by girl-geeks (and slash fandom fans) and as such is intended to be a safe space for women, where they can escape the anti-female sentiment that tends to exist on other forums. So one of our little quirks is that wishing female characters dead is out.

In FRONTLINE # 9, Sally interview Steve Rogers and he compared the Registration Act to Nazi Germany.

In FRONT LINE #11, Sally's anger was about how Times Square was ripped to shreds and over 50 civilians died. And this somehow tied into how Steve Rogers didn't use mySpace or watch NASCAR.

Most people were simply lost as to what either her point or Paul Jenkins' point was.

Because although I certainly don't like the character, I find it vexing how many people seem to feel obligated to insult a woman which is not real while letting the person who actually put those arguments to the page go without comment.

And he clearly failed here. Instead of portraying a character with a minimum of thought behind her words, he wrote the most generic dialogue and the comic around her acted as if it was sensible.

So why isn't he called out by the readers?

(Note: this isn't a singular issue, I have the same problem with the bashing of certain other characters such as Wanda for instance, and this is something which really annoys me when it comes to the general comics community.)

Not sure what the problem is regardless given that she's a fictional character. It's like getting upset people bashed Anakin in the prequels as opposed to "it's not his fault, George wrote him that way". Most people invested in fiction aren't going to have detached views on such things.
