I want to say where the hell did their guns come from... and how the fuck did she pop out of the floor like that.... but that scene was too badass....

this comic sounds so cool, yet so horrifying at the same time....

It looks like she shot through the floor so much that it splintered enough for her to pop out of it. In the real world I don't think that works (Mythbusters tested the idea of firing around yourself to make the floor drop out), but it's a comic so I don't quite mind it.

My only real problem is it seems like the guy giving the orders gets to live while the poor faceless bastard doing his job gets ventilated.

Killing the guys following the orders and then letting the bastard who actually gave the orders go pisses me off so much.

There was a planned TV show for TNT called "Civil" where a hotly contested presidential election and social media brings America to a second civil war. I wonder if it would have been like this, if more TNT-friendly.

Well, well, well look who is suddenly in favor of private citizens having assault rifles, handguns, and shotguns to protect themselves against government over reach.

Look who suddenly gives a shit about state's rights and sovereignty in the face of people who live in parts of the country far away telling you how to run your life base on their values.

I would find it amusing, but I doubt the comic's answer to the problem of government abusing power is going to be less government. I am pretty sure the answer is just going to be more the "right type" of government.

Well yes, the right type of government. AKA the type of government that respects it's rights legislation, lets it's judiciary do it's job and just, y'know, works, like in general?

It'd be nice if the US had a government like that, or atleast California.

It's just a comic book, in the real world its usually not the liberals who stock up on weapons and talk about overthrowing the government.

And are you referring to anything specific about values being forced on people?

The problem with the present occupants of the White House is not really "too much government." It's a lack of ethics, and the arbitrary use of power for personal aggrandizement & profit. Bad government can be small. Good government can be big,

As for the characters in this comic, clearly they've been in a war for a while.

Fun 'States' Rights' fact: the Southern States were all about overruling the rights of their Northern neighbours when it came to stuff like forcing them to help pursue runaway slaves.

When Lincoln was elected (signifying that they could no longer dominate the political process, it's not like he actually did anything) they seceded. And they all pointed to slavery as why. Hell, they made it illegal in the Confederacy for a state to ban slavery! So much for 'states' rights'!

There's also what Washington pulled in Pennsylvania

So, after Hamilton and Jefferson had worked out a deal to make D.C. the capital... The capital was moved from NYC to Philadelphia until D.C. was ready . But Pennsylvania had a gradual emancipation law. So, Washington made sure that he and his slaves never spent more than 6 months in Philly at a time.
