First, I -often- hear that broadcast television is dying, because FCC restrictions prevent them from doing, saying, or showing many things that cable and streaming channels can show readily. Also, because broadcast commercial television relies on advertising for income, and the value of advertising is greatly reduced by the advent of DVR technology.
So, while our current culture has been called "the second golden age of television" due to the quality of the material available, the old delivery system is, in fact, dying, and we will probably see it gone within our lifetime.
As for comics, I don't think "comics are dying" so much as "comic publishers are undermining themselves".
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
