so, U have questions, the people he blasts, do they die and stay dead, or do they respawn? do the people who now know the truth tell the rest of the world they are in hell, or let it be a suprise? if no one needs to eat or drink, does that mean they can build rocket ships to explore the vastness of space? are we sure Mark Millar or Garth Ennis didn't write this?
1) Why is the Catholic Priest worried about an Anti-Christ? Wouldn't that just mean God's end game is starting up? The one where Christians win?
2) Why is that hell? Like its a whole another dimension with apparently the same physicals laws of Earth without death? Like Humanity can grow, and learn, and expand for literally all of eternity? Whats the downside here?
That is a really good question. I just assumed there were since no one mentioned it and one would think lack of births would be just as disruptive as lack of deaths.
Yeah... it seems logical births would stop if they are all dead, but you'd think someone would notice that.
Not a complaint though... doing high-concept sci-fi that tackles deep philosophical questions is always going to fall apart when examined too closely, and they had some pretty interesting questions in there.
I did find the art incredibly distracting though. Some frames were very good, but frequently the models looked awkward, especially when running or reacting.
I guess that depends how you feel about other people.
Pros: Your dead child comes back. Your beloved spouse. Lennon, Cobain, Prince, Bowie and Elvis make a new album, with shout outs to Beethoven and Tupac. Heath Ledger punches out Leto and permanently takes over all Joker duties for upcoming Batman films.
Cons: Hell is other people. Your mother-in-law comes back, and never leaves. Hitler becomes the next governor of South Carolina by a landslide.
And what about aging? Does it stop? Are children stuck being children? Do old people die, come back, then age some more?
This feels so... artificial to me. Everyone looks really stiffly posed (and obviously referenced/traced) in the art, and the dialogue just feels really clunky and fake. There might be a point here, but I can't get to it.
If everyone is dead and entered hell at the same time (which, okay, assuming everyone goes to hell, sure), why were the dead of the world coming BACK to life in the now-revealed afterlife? If they already died, wouldn't they be there already, waiting? How is that supposed to have worked?

Date: 2017-08-22 02:55 pm (UTC)Not "The good guys never win" stories like Crossed and GoT, but stories where the hero fights to stop the thousand year reign of darkness, and fails.
You don't get those stories very often in American entertainment.

Yeah, it's... complicated.
