The continuity welding job they manage to merge two properties (plus add in several new ones) that'd been running separate for years is impressive, and helped set them set up several conflicts.
Though I do hope we get past the 'humans are paranoid of cybertronians,' conflicts, because while they do have good reason, we've had a lot of them.
And seeing as this along with Revolution is welding pretty much everything Hasbro including Rom for some reason into a shared universe, I'm not even sure the Transformers count as part of that universe, even though there's been G.I. Joe and the like existing in IDW's Transformers before Revolution, through crossovers and whatever. The problem for me with this shared universe what with the likes of M.A.S.K., Action Man, Micronauts and, well, Rom is that I literally only have heard of these being in the same verse through Revolution, even with my long-standing awareness of Joes and Cobra being in the same 'verse as the Transformers. You can clear things up with me and I have nothing against that seeing as I've literally heard of these new series through news about Revolution and I want to know if in the previous two series I'm talking about (Transformers and G.I. Joe both in general and not anything specific) there were concepts relating to the new series debuting through the Road To Revolution, like the Action Man in relation to the Joes and how M.A.S.K's vehicles were reverse-engineered from Cybertronian tech and how the rest link to those two, or were all these made and said in the build-up to Revolution? On a side-note while reading this, I took a look a look at the cover and was like "Huh, a Hasbro-verse comic with zero Transformers. That's new." And literally the first page I read was Optimus getting the slag blown out of him by Cobra. Its an interesting way to start a comic if I knew, since I previously expected Transformers to be a lot tougher with the lasers they use for weapons. Also, sorry for saying so late since my account conked out a week or so ago.
