This first appeared in 'Tales from the Crypt' #28. Warning for some gore.

Captain Matt Starke tells the reader how he loves his new girl Eileen and how he murdered to get her.

We flashback to him with his first mate Ben Harper asks him to meet his girlfriend. Starke instantly falls in love with Eileen and he can tell that she feels the same way about him. When Ben goes to get drinks, he kisses her.

After getting some information from a seedy gentleman, Starke tricks Ben to go hunting at an island.

Love this, one of my favorite stories. The rotting woman at the end is superbly grotesque. No one draws zombies and rotting corpses better than Davis, love how he makes them look like they are melting or crumbling apart.

I watched the whole series a decade or so ago, but don't remember much from that particular episode.

I really do love how grotesque Eileen looks there at the end, but can't help being amused that the skin and muscle hasn't sloughed off her in such a way as to ruin her figure.

I mentioned this last time this was posted: I'm not doctor, but I'm pretty sure there is no disease in the world that can reduce you to a rotting corpse like figure in a manner of moments.

I mean, yest there are flesh eating bacteria. That is a thing, but I think that takes several hours or days to get to the point we see here (I think, the wikipedia page is unclear). There's no virus that just straight up kills you like that (Never mind the fact they say Bubonic plague is what did this, and I am pretty sure that's not what the Bubonic plague does to you. *Checks* Okay, it can cause gangrene, but only in the extremities, it doesn't turn you into a zombie (and on a related note I hope you guys all appreciate that I had to go look up these diseases on Wikipedia and see pictures of victims of these diseases. It isn't pretty let me tell you.)).
