Here's another Ray Bradbury story that EC adapted. For those who don't know, the story of their partnership is pretty interesting; it originally started with EC ripping off his stories without Bradbury's permission. Bradbury sent them the following letter.

“Just a note to remind you of an oversight. You have not as yet sent on the check for $50.00 to cover the use of secondary rights on my two stories ‘The Rocket Man’ and ‘Kaleidoscope.’ . . . I feel this was probably overlooked in the general confusion of office work, and look forward to your payment in the near future.”

EC complied and after this Bradbury lent his stories for authorized adaptations of his work.

EC editor Al Feldstein died early this month last year so to remember him here is a story he wrote and illustrated from Tales from the Crypt #22.

Of all the EC horror stories I've read, "A-Corny Story" (Tales from the Crypt #28, Feb-Mar 1952) is the one I find the most chilling. This, despite the utter lack of gore, scary faces, or the like. (The art, after all, is by Jack Kamen, best known for his realistic touch on EC's crime and suspense stories.) Read on and I'll tell you why, at the end.

No, this isn't the Bruce Wayne from _Batman: Tenses_, despite his similar attitude problem )

This is a repost of mine from two years ago. With Halloween on the horizon I figured I'd post some old EC comics if I have the time. If you have any requests let me know and I'll see if I can post it. This also applies to Junji Ito's work as well.

Once again, if there any specific stories from EC or Warren that you would like to see for Halloween, let me know.

With Halloween around the corner, I thought I'd do my annual "requests" post. If anyone wants to see any specific stories from either EC Comics (Tales from the Crypt, Haunt of Fear, etc) or Warren comics (Creepy, Eerie, etc) let me know. Even if I posted it at some point in the past, or if it's something new, I'm open for anything.

In the old days of S_D, I used to post multiple stories from the old EC comics (mostly horror but some of their other genres as well) as well as stories from the Warren magazines (Creepy and Eerie).

Given the 1/3 rule, I stopped because if your average story is five pages, then that leaves little to post.

That being said, for Halloween, I figured I might post some selections from EC and Warren. So I any of you have any stories that you would like to see? Anything that I posted from the days of old, or a favorite that you think others should see, or something that you heard about but never saw? Again, I can only post 1/3 so keep that in mind. The more elaborate stories might be harder for me to share.

With the theme being "Horror Week", I thought I'd post some EC horror stories. That being said, I don't know which ones I should post as there's a lot to choose from. Soo...I'm taking requests, if anyone is interested. All I need is which magazine it came from, the issue number and of course the title of the story. I'll take the rest from there.

I can't promise I'll do all of them, depending on how much requests I get. I can only do them until Monday, as that's when I'll be in college. But there's a chance I could do some next weekend if time allows.
