T'Challa not answering phone calls about Jane's cancer or something?

Maybe Wakandian medicine is sufficiently advanced that Jane considers it magic. Like Asgardian medicine.

That's assuming T'Challa would even allow her to use it given that he's apparently hoarding it from the rest of the world on account of people still having to use chemotherapy elsewhere.

In reality, it's the unpoken rule in comics that you can't "cure cancer" you cannot have a character who is capable of curing cancer or who discovered the cure of cancer. Because you end with situations like these, in which you CAN'T use it because, otherwise, Cancer is treated as this easy to solve problem and not a really horrible thing that kills a lot of people and you can't explain why they don't use it.

Which makes it so strange that editors allowed that plot point that Wakanda discovered a cure for cancer in the first place. :/

It was less a plot point than it was a few lines of dialogue. Really wish everyone would get the hell over it already.

i really wish people would get the hell over Hank Pym having a PSYCHOTIC BREAK and slapping his wife, ONCE.... do you know how many times Reed Richards has slapped Susan?

How long does it take for the Wakandan cancer cure to work? Because the main problem Jane has remember is that the Chemo isn't making any progress because every time she changes to Thor and back it "resets" her Cancer or Purges the Chemo or something. So the Wakandan cure may not work on her.

Given how super-duper advanced Wakanda is at everything I can't imagine their medicine would take much longer to react.

So Jane stops Thoring long enough to get cured. If she doesn't want to share why she's away to anyone that doesn't have to know about her cancer, just tell them she's going to a far off realm on some vague heroic quest. There's enough other heroes around to cover for her for a while.

Her problem is that she -can't- stop Thoring for any amount of time because plot. Something always comes up.

Isn't comics Jane (unlike movie Jane) an actual medical doctor? She of all people should know that she should be putting her own health first or she'll be useless to the people she wants to save. I can understand her not being able hold off long enough for chemo to work, but if T'challa actually offered the Wakandan cancer cure and it required a few weeks to work? In that scenario she should absolutely at least try it while counting on other Avengers to handle things while she's away. If some fate of the world stuff that only the weilder of Mjolnir can handle comes up than sure, it happens. But there's no excuse to not try, at least.

She's the star of a monthly superhero comic. Let's face it, there's always going to be fate of the world stuff.

It's not like she'd have to be down for more than one issue. Just a one shot issue that shows her getting treated, while being tempted to go out and hero and her doctor telling her to sit down, get treated and trust her friends and teammates. Boom, cancer gone and we can atop worrying that Jame will have to die for Thor to get his hammer back.

Sure, just like how actual medical doctors know that smoking is bad for them, and they should be getting adequate sleep and exercise.

Knowing in the head, knowing in the heart and doing something about it are three different things in real life and in fiction.

I find Vision's puzzlement over his immortality to be... strange. Hasn't it always been the assumption that he's ageless and immortal?

There’s a difference between assuming it and being confronted with it. It’s kind of a funhouse mirror version of dealing with your own mortality. Just because we all know on some level that we will die some day doesn’t mean we’ve really dealt with the implications

But it's more a case of why would he ever think he's going to have a human lifespan in the first place?

Why would he have thought about it one way or another? His world has been relatively unchanged since he first woke up, up until now why not take it for granted that it’ll stay that way?

Especially since he's literally been blown up and taken apart and repaired with different off the shelf parts on more than one occasion.
