As funny as Kraven is here it is kind of sad that they did this whole huge event to bring Kraven back from the dead and cheapen a classic story and then no one bothers to actually do anything of note with him aside from a few assorted guest appearances (I think) and now he's back to being a joke character.

Kraven's Last Hunt is the only reason he isn't universally seen as a joke character. Naturally they want to undo it just like the rest of JMD's legacy.

I'm literally writing a blog about Kraven's Last Hunt, and I keep having to stop myself from writing "WHY AREN'T PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS OTHER THAN HOW IT KILLED KRAVEN AND THAT ONE PANEL WHERE PETER'S CRAWLING OUT OF A GRAVE?" I have to have something for the climax (other than my queer reading of the run as a whole).

(Or is this about Vermin. I'm not super comfortable if this is about the rat man). Also pretty sre his story is just about child abuse

Squirrel Girl has used him fairly well in general IMO, this just seems to be a particularly jokey issue.

I mean he is a joke character in Squirrel Girl, but only to the same extent that everyone in the title is, including the Punisher, Doom, Ultron etc. Otherwise one can tell that the author is fond of Kraven.

He is a character who is used for jokes, but IMO he actually gets some good development, like when he's depressed in the crossover with Howard the Duck and then gets out of it by deciding to hunt hunters.

The characters in SQ are used humorously, but they *themselves* are not the jokes, if that makes sense.
