It was quite funny as the MCU said "Magic isn't real" at first, then kind of amended "Magic is real... sort of" and by Doctor Strange explained how it worked. It is still just "significantly advanced science" but to anyone without proper access or understanding, it just looks like hand-wavy nonsense producing the impossible... which is what science and techno-babble seems like to outsiders.

Did the MCU say magic wasn't real for any length of time? With the cosmic cube in CA:TFA, and Thor being an early movie where the magical, mythical world tree is described in terms of quantum mechanics, Loki having magic powers, Thor having a magic hammer and Asgard being a fusion of ancient and modern, and then Doctor Strange being about manipulating time and space I thought they'd more or less left magic as a thing that just.. was.
