Guitez, who has control of the corrupt police, is tired of Maria's father, the town judge who fears what Guitez might to do his daughter after his wife was killed, objections to Guitez's flaunting his power. When Maria's father finally threatens to report Guitez to the governor, Guitez kills him right in front of Maria.

Guitez shoots Steve, causing him to drop the rune. An evil spirit is released, allowing Maria to escape.

Maria transforms into a flying sun goddess, allowing her to carry Steve Trevor away from the excavation site, before transforming back to normal.

A fully monsterized Guitez crash lands his private plane in Los Angeles, witnessed by Mike Willard, writer/editor of the National Exposer. He also witnesses the transformed Maria arrive to battle Guitez.

Maria uses her staff to destroy Guitez before collapsing from exhaustion in front of the Hollywood sign.

The following is from a back-up story (3 of 9 pages, the rest shows that Wonder Woman's light has some sort of healing properties, giving health and peace of mind throughout LA):

Its so weird reading Stan Lee dialogue next to Jim Lee pencils.

"You've got your 1960s in my 1990s!"
"You've got your 1990s in my 1960s!"

Announcer: STAN LEE's Wonder Woman! Two great flavours that go better together!

I like her.

And damn that Steve is a helluva hottie.

When he was like "oh no, I'm totally dying here, let me just share a few important plot points " I was quite put out.
