While Salden is handling a crisis, a criminal he arrested named Gundor Gorrok escapes and manages to kill Lyella as revenge. Gorrok hijacks the new space/time-bending ship to escape the planet, with Salden managing to get on last second. Just before the ship crashes into the Earth Gorrok manages to escape with a flying harness, leaving Salden to crash into the ocean.
After defeating the warriors and being worshipped as a god, Gorrok decides to turn all the planet's inhabitants into his slaves. Meanwhile, Salden gets a job for some quick cash at a circus, astonishing everyone with feats of strength, claiming he's able to do so thanks to his suit. Taking the name Clark Kent, he leaves.
Gorrok is contacted by Reverend Dominic Darrk, allying with himself. Meanwhile, Salden is approached by Lois Lane, an agent offering to make him famous. Deciding that becoming famous and letting Gorrok come to him is the best approach, he accepts, which proves to be a good idea when her lawyer chases off government agents after his suit.
Salden meets with the Pentagon, who manages to sneak him in to confront the terrorists. It turns out that Gorrok, having already kidnapped Lois, is leading the terrorists.
