I don't know, but the one in front is definitely female, and seems to either have fluffy short-ish hair or be wearing a hood of some sort. Could be Emma if her hair is blowing in a non-existent wind, though. I have no idea who the guy in back could be.
Someone wake me up when this whole "look at us, we're darkity dark dark dark, grim and gritty villains always win because that's more realistic" thing is over.
It was dull in the 90s, now... they can market it as a cure for insomnia.
Yeah--some of the guys there at Marvel can do gritty pretty well, like Brubaker's Cap and Bendis when he's doing crime stories, but Dark Reign's definately not an example of "good grit."
Yeah because the villains sure are kicking ass in Marvel ! It's not like The Punisher is killing villains left and right in his series, Nick Fury is destroying Hydra, The Dark Avengers are falling apart, Emma is clearly going to double cross Norman, The Thunderbolts are being taken down from within and Norman himself is going crzy under the strain !
Going to assume that was sarcasm. I honestly have no idea what the normal costumes for them are, since they all seem to change constantly. Closest I've been to an X-book is Cable and Messiah war, and in there, Angel is blue and purple...
are you serious? be still my beating heart. i'm one of the probably five people who really loved that character (bad writing notwithstanding). now i'm torn between being really excited that he'll be back and being completely terrified of how much they can possibly fudge him up this time around.
Yep he's back. SPOILERS once again, courtesy of Comic Book Resources.
"There was one “Dark X-Men” character that Cornell could talk about in some detail though. He's not a team member, he's a target. His name is Nate Grey AKA X-Man. The son of an alternate reality's Jean Grey and Cyclops, Grey first appeared in the 90's X-Men storyline “The Age of Apocalypse.” At the close of that storyline he found himself in the mainstream Marvel Universe where he put his vast mutant powers to work as a hero. During one of those exploits it looked like Nate sacrificed his life to save the world from alien invasion and “Dark X-Men” marks his return to the Marvel Universe.
“He's near omnipotent, the mutant shaman, and he's terrifying to my cast of characters,” Cornell said. “That’s because he's exactly what they don't want in play right now: a very powerful, charismatic, alternative leader of mutant affairs. And a Summers, to boot. X-Man is dreaming his way back into the world, the deadliest possible hero.”
*random* dude, now i have a craving for Nate Grey icons. i lost my huge collection in the Great Personal Computer Crash of 2008 that not only ruined my PC, but took half my external drives with it. It was freaking epic. *sigh*
Oh Hank... If you wanna wear funky goggles, that's fine. But why did you have to give up the metal pants for an orange/white costume? :( I miss them pants. Still yay Dark Beast!
This is a miniseries starting in November, set after the current Utopia Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-men crossover.
Apparently they're cutting down to 4 team members operating under Osborn's control, and Nate Grey as the antagonist. And the creative team is Paul Cornell and Leonard Kirk.
I am incredibly behind on comics but I stumbled across the Wikipedia entry for the Dark X-Men a week ago which is where I first heard of it and it had the full roster and citations to back it up and a group drawing that has nobody censored out. So why are they acting like it is a mystery? Or is this implying that there are more characters than Emma Frost, Daken, Cloak and Dagger, Namor, Mystique disguised as Xavier, and Michael Pointer missing from that cover?
