Yeah the playfulness of this series is gleefully obvious, but he really forced his hand to pull all the toys from their urban-sci-fi setting and throw them into a credible fish-cult-seaside-village theme set.

That was the premise from the beginning. Except it's not really the actual DC characters but a funhouse-mirror version of them, so it feels more like Planetary.
