Don't you know that in a comic book universe, superhero scientists specialize in ALL SCIENCE. Look at Reed Richards, Hank Pym, Hank McCoy, Tony Stark, Victor von Do--

Oh. Right. That's the Marvel Universe. Surely there's no all-purpose scientists in the DCU. You know, like Niles Caulder, Lex Luthor, Ray Palmer, Thaddeus Sivana, T.O. Morrow, Professor Ivo...

Whoops, sorry Barry. I guess you're literally the only A-List scientist who's useless at engineering. It's not like you built a machine that lets you travel through time through your speed force powers... Oh yeah.

Next time, use your speed to instantly gain a working knowledge of engineering in 5 seconds. :)

And on the flip side you have Steel; he's an engineer who seemed to move more and more into super science.

I always liked that Ted Kord was "just" a brilliant engineer. .. who was so good at it that Bruce Wayne bought him out so he could turn his inventions into more Bat-themed stuff.

It's a small thing, but I love that for Gl, it's Diana and Batman. Just the detail of that reference is really good.

Also, as someone who is a bit behind on these issues, did Batman do something else except the wrong prioritization? As that seems like a big thing to ask him to take a leave of absence on.

I... am not comfortable with two leaguers with solo-title love interest having expressed interest in Jessica at this point. I don't like what it does to her development as a character or her place in the League, and it causes a lot of friction with the solo titles.

Yeah. I mean, I don't have a problem with Barry in isolation - at the time he didn't actually have a love interest (he and Patty had broken up, and while they were clearly setting up Barry/Iris, neither of them had made a move, yet), but now she's been paired with him and Bruce in JL AND Simon in GLs (ok, that one hasn't happened, yet, but it's being set up), and that's getting a bit uncomfortable.

This one is especially galling, since it came out the same week as Batman 40. (Where Bruce and Diana, after a subjective DECADE of being alone except for the monsters they were fighting, and having no idea they were in a different time stream, and thus that they'd get ever out, or that Selina and Steve* would still be there if they did...still decided that they wouldn't do it, because it would be betraying them.)

* I'm very behind on Wonder Woman...Diana/Steve is a thing again? Did their breakup never happen with the changed history, or did they get back together?

Diana/Steve are very much a thing again, but I don't know if the break-up ever happened. Just enjoying the romance after a quarter-century of canon nothing! :)
