It's a shame about Voyager, in that I get the sense she'll only be sticking around for this event and then disappearing. Apart from the Overly Emphasised Bewbs, I really love her distinctive design and powerset, and would love to see her "woman out of time" story explored by a capable creative team (e.g. Kate Leth and Joe Quinones?)
What aggravates me is that stories of up and coming new characters are the ones I like best. Kamala's story has been terrific.
But it seems like Marvel editorial lacks the skill, patience, or inclination to do this, so they keep throwing up old/new characters with ready made connections to existing (and popular) properties rather than letting those connections come about organically.
I think the number of characters who get introduced without being inserted into existing backstory far exceeds the number who don't. The whole reason people make "Sentry again" jokes about characters like Voyager is because it's rare enough to stand out.
On the other, when they do shoehorn a character into continuity, it is generally part of an effort to make them a marquee player.
Consider: Jessica Jones Maria Hill Daisy Johnson Vulcan Sentry
All of these characters were shoved in our face with varying degrees of subtlety and success, and all of them were -big deals.- Consider how many new characters have been introduced organically in the past fifteen or so years and either faded into the background (Young X-Men) or outright killed for shock value (Avengers Academy/Arena).
The only other ones that spring to mind are Isaiah Bradley and the Blue Marvel, but of whom were revealed much more subtly, and who have had much less of an impact on the MU since they were introduced. The jury is still out on Voyager (I personally think it is a fake-out), but time will tell.
My theory is Voyager is a psychic projection of Jarvis'. It fits with what's going on with him, and he genuinely has been with the team since the beginning.
Holy God, that's it....fits right in with some nonsense I was just reading in an interview about "it'll be a strong story about what makes an Avenger, and who would want to be one, and what it takes," blah blah.
I like her design. It's cool to see a female hero with a different (read: physically possible) body type.
What I find hilarious is how... off... her breasts look. If I had to wager, I'd say that the artist is so used to drawing back-breakers that a woman in a B-Cup is outside his wheelhouse.
I'm still not completely giving up on my theory that Voyager is connected to Valeria somehow, but that now requires the assumption she's an unreliable narrator.
I'm also trying to figure out just how different some of those old stories would have turned out if they'd had a teleporter.
I mean, Thor was effectively able to teleport, so in theory he could have provided group transport like Voyager in any story he was a part of. (It would have taken a bit longer for him to generate one of those portals by spinning his hammer, but still...)

If they don't, she'll stick around... like Sentry.

Show the X-Mansion with photos of all the X-Teams that predate the "original"
Or redraw things entirely so that Steve is in Tony's lap because Avenger X took his seat on the quinjet
