While I ship Diana/Steve, I'm really not a fan of the portrayal of their relationship as brute fighter/strategist.
Diana was trained to become a queen, and lead her people both as general in military campaigns and as ruler in peacetime. After that she became an ambassador to all the countries in the outside world.
Tl;dr: Diana is absolutely a planner.
Diana and Steve work best when they are like Captain America and Peggy Carter.
But the issue seems to be that, while people in general find it acceptable for a woman to be less "thrilling" than her man, the reverse is blasphemy. So, since Diana is obviously stronger than Steve, now writers want him to be the brains of the couple or else he is bashed as "worthless," and that means making Diana dumber.
Yeah, that dialogue is just bonkers, although I'm also confused how Jason apparently didn't know he had superhealing?
It's also bizarre because that statement from Diana somehow ignores the concept of levels, which in turn really does make her feel dumb. Like, I don't think it would be a stretch to assume that Diana would trust a plan from Bruce since he is one of the premium strategic geniuses in the DCU. However, by the same token, Diana's understanding of strategy is above majority of the others. Yet here the indication seems to be that Diana just doesn't really plan at all.
Two things. First that cover question shouldn't have made me laugh as hard as it did. I just love the assumption that the readers have already formed such a strong bond to Jason that they actually care if Diana loses him.
Second, 'I'm a warrior more than a planner. At times like this I wish Steve was here.' I genuinely like Diana as a character while also being glad for vulnerabilities. However that line was made me do a spit-take.
So Steve and his team are dead now, right? Because that looks like a handful of normal humans with guns going up against an equal number of New God warriors.
So, I've not really been keeping up with WW for a while, but what's the bid deal with her having a brother? Didn't it turn out she actually had a bunch of brothers, being Zeus' kid and all? What makes this Jason dude so special, is he like supposed to be the mythological Jason?
