This all could have been avoided if Saba remembered he's a sword and just stabbed him. Also I LOVE the monster designs in this comic.

Otoh... if you have a ranged attack that can keep you in a safer distance away from the target, why go for the stabby stab option?

Can't deny that I find it very annoying that the teenager who has been Red Ranger for a little while is bitching about ~slippery slopes~ over the person who has been keeping the world safe for 50 years. Especially when a quarantine apparently counts as an outrageous abuse of power.

I could see his point if they focused their attention on stuff that is actually shady. But, again, they attribute unacceptable tyranny to stuff that is really just standard law enforcing procedure.

Yeah I get that she probably should have told the Rangers that Promethea had Drakkon jus so that they knew. But what would that have actually changed?
It's not like the Rangers are properly equipped to hold prisoners indefinitely in the Power Chamber, the last time they tried Finster escaped really easily.
Promethea has manpower and resources that the Rangers just don't. They can keep Drakkon locked up, fed, under surveillance and a constant rotation of guards, and all without any potential access to the Morphin Grid.

The Rangers only interacted with Drakkon for a few moments and he was able to manipulate their mistrust and inspired Saba's ill advised assassination attempt in like a day.

It'd be different if Promethea were studying Drakkon and trying to learn how he manipulated the Morphin Grid so that he could mass produce his Ranger Sentries. And maybe they were, maybe in a future storyline Grace is going to outfit all of her soldiers with Psycho Green powers. But right now Jason and the other rangers don't even suspect that, so they're just mad about the quarantine and the prisoner.
And would Promethea be wrong to explore those options?
Not too long ago in the comics, Rita took over all of their Zords. Earth was defenseless because they have been relying on the Rangers to deal with Rita. So why can't Earth governments and militaries try to develop their own weapons against evil space aliens? Or are the Rangers so full of hubris that they think they will always be there?
