nah. it a retrospective of their relatiosnhip through the years. from the first time they met, to some silver-esque silly gadget to them finally being together. it is about how they not only change costumes every once in a while, they themselves change as people as well. that their costumes also reflect who they are and, as such, Selina is trying to find "her" wedding costume, the one that reflect who she is right now.


It is a pretty subtle sentiment... or it would be if there wasn't a (not posted) double page in which batman has to say "HEY! have you ever considered how we are always changing as people?" while selina goes "you mean the costumes, right?".

This issue (and King's run in general) has more continuity/timeline issues than is normal for Batman.

Like we know Selena was in her 90s costume during the War of Jokes and Riddles. The costume aesthetics of the Gold / Silver age make no sense at all in the time period they must have happened , which would be ~2010 at this point. And there's not enough time for her to have gone through that many costumes between Year 0 and the War of Jokes and Riddles.

Though maybe King is going somewhere with this ? The story has at times gone out of its way to draw attention to the temporal / memory inconsistencies of certain characters.

I am going to go with this not being supposed to be tied to a single continuity but, rather, be applicable to Batman in it's entirety. that those are supposed to literally be the incarnations from all those years ago.
