I feel like after this they've stretched the whole Bizarro thing as far as they can as a concept.

I honestly wish it would go away forever.

I don't hate Bizarro as a concept, but when they try and adhere to that backwards Bizzro speak so closely, and they introduce this entire Bizarro world where "Oh its wacky everyone is the opposite and talk backwards and stuff" it wears out its welcome pretty quickly.

That's why I like the DCAU Bizarro, where's he's just a simpleminded imperfect clone of Superman (Although they did introduce the backwards speak later, its implied he's doing that because Luthor lobotomized him).

I wish I could like the whole Bizaroo idea, but yeah, it's the one thing my brain just 'nopes' away, which is weird. And these sort of scans are near unreadable to me because of that annoying gimmick.

I do need to see Superman TAS. Especially if it can make Bizzaro work.

If you have Amazon Prime they have both that and Batman the animated series up as part of their streaming service.

Bizarro features first in the episode Identity crisis in season 2, then he shows up again in Bizarro's world, and finally in the season 3 Episode Little Big Head man (Which also features Mrs. Mxysptlk, as voiced by Gilbert Godfried.).

He doesn't alway talk alike that (see current RHatO book for isntance) but I think the Bizarro speech is fine and good most of the time, it's just that this story uses soooo much of it, you have to focus to get what the hell he's saying, especially since the story is trying to be serious and dramatic, when the whole point of the backwards speech is to be funny.

Agreed. Bizarro is just one of those comic concepts that has no interest for me, like Man-Bat, Morbius, and Lobo, yet there's always someone determined to keep making them a thing, somehow.

I remember reading back in the pre-Crisis day that most writers liked the idea of Bizarro better than the actuila character, because it was so exhausting to "bizarro" his speech every time he opened his mouth.

The biggest problem with Bizzaro's reverse speech idea is that if it isn't applied consistently and thoroughly, it doesn't work...but if it IS applied that way, it gets confusing or tedious. A lot of writers think they can just put negative words in it and call it a day, without actually reversing everything. And if you ARE consistent, it often raises further questions in terms of logic and execution.

Bizarro is a concept that works best in limited doses, outside of wacky silver age hijinks.
