Also, Lois apparently doesn't go for that whole "secret identity" thing. It's not as though it can, y'know, prevent enemies from tracking you down or some such.

I do like the frenemy banter and pillow-fight in the making at the end, though.

I feel like there may have been a more sexually liberated unvierse out there where it ended up with Lois, Lana and Clark being in a poly relationship (Or, alternatively, Supes and Lois are swingers).

Also a universe where Lois/Lana kept using the Insect Queen powers to fight crime. Because that's awesome.

I'd say that was "The Amazing Story of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue", but I guess it's actually the opposite of that story.

Wasn't that the ending(or maybe just implied ending) of the Claremont written elseworld where Lois ended up wonder woman and Lana the new Oracle of Delphi.

to be fair. she is Lois Lane. chances are criminals would be LESS inclined to go after her if they knew she is a superhero as well...

I am reminded of the scene from BTAS where Terrorists have hijacked Air force One when Lois is on board, one of the terrorists grabs her to make an example out of her and asks who she is.

Lois:.... Miss Lane.

Terrorist: Lois Lane? the one Superman always saves?

Lois: Fraid so.

Cue Superman coming in and cleaning house.

The Insect Queen costume is kind of cool... but man, the transformations are some kind of body horror. :)

I guess if you had conscious control over it then it isn't so bad, but it is when it becomes involuntary, like what happened to Miss Glow-moth (that is terrifying, that empty"cocoon") it crosses the line into soul shrivelling revulsion. I'll admit that involuntary transformations are one of my big squick factors. I really nope away from them at speed.
