So this show is basically fucked, isn't it? First Carl and now Rick? The plan is for Daryl to become the new lead but I'd be surprised if the show lasts much longer. It's pretty obvious that there's been a lot of behind the scenes shenanigans and money-pinching going on that's causing the show to eat itself alive.

Just imagine, in some other alternate universe there's a version of 'The Walking Dead' where Frank Darabont is the showrunner...

I do not envy Angela Kang.

Still I am vaguely interested in seeing what they're going to do after shooting themselves in the foot last season.

Only eight seasons too late. Rick has been the weak link of the show for a long time, and his repetitive angsting and getting other people killed antics are half the reason that ratings have taken a dive, in my opinion anyway.

By this point I can only imagine two ends for the show: One where things wrap up before shit hits the fan and another where shit really hits the fan and the show starts to spectacularly crash and burn via seasonal rot to the point of cancellation.

I hope that some people are still enjoying the show, but I'm glad that I stopped watching it.

In my head canon, the television series actually ends in season 5, episode 11, where Aaron leads the group to Alexandria's gates. That episode was all about the group learning to trust others again, and them hearing children playing behind the walls and going into the unknown together towards a brighter future seemed like a great place to end things.
