The Long Years

Ray Bradbury passed away this month back in 2012, I figured I'd share an old comic based on a story he wrote to remember his work.
It first appeared in Weird Fantasy #28.

He thinks to himself that sooner or later someone else has to come, either from space or across the dead seas. He visits a series of graves and asks for their forgiveness, saying that he was very much alone. Upon returning home, he discovers a red flash in the sky and looks through his telescope: it's a rocket.
He brings some wine to his family, and calls for a toast. They have been living alone on Mars for twenty years alone; they were left behind when the rest of the people of Mars had fled back to Earth. He says that if not for them he wouldn't have been able to bear it.
Captain Wilder, who was part of Hathaway's crew from a long time ago, arrives with the rest of his men. Wilder has been on a previous expedition for the last twenty years and isn't aware of the current situation. Hathaway introduces him to his family.
